Bridge Technical Talent plans Earth Day e-waste drive

EAST GREENWICH – Bridge Technical Talent plans to celebrate Earth Day with its seventh e-waste recycling drive.
Although Earth Day falls on Tuesday, April 22, Bridge’s e-waste drive, their seventh since 2009, will take place in the Texas Roadhouse parking lot in Warwick between 9 a.m. and 12 noon on Saturday, April 26.
Bridge is calling for Rhode Islanders to bring their old, broken and outdated computers, monitors, laptops, computer parts, routers, laser printers, printer cartridges, telephones, cell phones, televisions, DVD players, VCRs, cameras, radios, MP3 players and other unused electronic waste to the event.
The company’s sixth e-waste drive, held in October, recycled 10,113 pounds of electronic waste and helped raise more than $1,000 for the Providence Center School’s “Learning Through Technology” project.
For the April 26 drive, a small donation per e-waste item is encouraged, and all proceeds will benefit Oceans of Grace, the outreach ministry of the First Lutheran Church of East Greenwich.
The company also plans to provide a shredding truck at the event to offer document-shredding services from Affordable Shredding Inc. Document-shredding services will be provided at 50 cents per pound. A percentage of that fee will also be donated.
