Bridge Technical Talent plans eighth e-waste drive

EAST GREENWICH – This October, Bridge Technical Talent will hold its eighth e-waste recycling drive to collect old and unwanted electronics and raise money for the Providence After School Alliance.
Bridge’s latest e-waste drive, its eighth since 2009, will take place in the Texas Roadhouse parking lot in Warwick between 9 a.m. and 12 noon on Saturday, Oct. 18.
Bridge is calling for Rhode Islanders to bring their old, broken and outdated computers, monitors, laptops, computer parts, routers, laser printers, printer cartridges, telephones, cell phones, televisions, DVD players, VCRs, cameras, radios, MP3 players and other unused electronic waste to the event.
The company’s seventh e-waste drive, held in April to honor Earth Day, recycled 7,892 pounds of electronic waste and helped raise $545 for Oceans of Grace, the outreach ministry of the First Lutheran Church of East Greenwich.
For the Oct. 18 drive, a small donation per e-waste item is encouraged, and all proceeds will benefit the Providence After School Alliance charity.
At past e-waste drive events, Bridge Technical Talent also offered document-shredding services, but that service will not be provided at the October event, the company said.
Individuals who have questions about the event or whether a particular e-waste item will be accepted should contact Bridge Technical Talent at (401) 234-2416 ext. 416.
