EAST GREENWICH – Information technology staffing firm Bridge Technical Talent has acquired BPS Becker Professional Search Inc. in an effort to expand its New England presence, Bridge told Providence Business News. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“For Bridge, BPS was the right acquisition partner. BPS has built a solid reputation for consultative IT staffing and have cultivated excellent client and candidate relationships in Rhode Island and Massachusetts,” Bridge Partner James Wright said in prepared remarks.
“Bridge prides itself on long-term relationship building over short-term transactions, and BPS has a skilled team with the same principles, ensuring a fluid transaction.”
The company said the acquisition, its first, is part of its overall growth strategy. Bridge has been growing “organically” since 2008 at an average growth rate of more than 35 percent, according to a press release. Partners Wright and Joe Devine made the decision to grow the company even more in 2013 through acquisition.
The company said its goal was to expand the geographic coverage its IT-staffing business. With the acquisition, Bridge said it has acquired a broader base of Massachusetts clients, “which dovetails with its expanding recruiting capacity and presence throughout New England,” according to a company statement
“BPS’ business-development efforts had begun to outpace their ability to fulfill client staffing requirements. Bridge has developed a talented and growing recruiting team that will allow us to improve fulfillment rates with BPS’ clients,” Devine said in prepared remarks. “Additionally, the BPS candidate database will expand Bridge’s candidate pool, increasing our fulfillment rate for existing customers. Overall, we anticipate many satisfied clients as a result of this acquisition.”
Susan Becker of BPS is also lauded the acquisition, saying: “Bridge Talent’s values and company-style align with the direction in which BPS was headed. I am confident with this decision and know our clients and employees will be in good hands.”
