The Bristol County Savings Bank Charitable Foundation awarded $40,000 in grants to seven nonprofit organizations in the New Bedford and Dartmouth area, during a recent ceremony at the bank’s New Bedford branch.
“In keeping with our mission as a community bank, we feel it is vitally important to support local not-for-profit organizations that are doing all they can to make a positive impact in the neighborhoods we also serve,” said Patrick J. Murray, Jr., president of the foundation and president and CEO of the bank. “Those we assisted today are all building a stronger community in different ways and, as a result, continually inspire us to do our part.”
Organizations supported by the bank include: Caritas Communications Inc., $2,500; Horizons for the Homeless, $2,500; Veteran’s Transition House of Southeastern Massachusetts, $2,500; New Bedford Art Museum/ArtWorks!, $5,000; New Bedford Festival Theatre, $5,000; Nativity Preparatory School, $10,000 and Schwartz Center for Children, $12,500. •
