Bristol County Savings Bank receives Scouting honor

TAUNTON – For its support and development of the local ScoutReach program, which provides more than 1,000 urban and at-risk youth with scouting opportunities, Bristol County Savings Bank was awarded the Scouting Urban Outreach Service Award from the Narragansett Council, Boy Scouts of America early last month.

Tim McCandless, a scout executive and CEO of the Narragansett Council, Boy Scouts of America, said: “We recognize Bristol County Savings Bank with this award because it is an outstanding corporate citizen in our community that is committed to youth advocacy and civic service. The Bank represents the values and ethics found in the Boy Scout Oath and Law every day.”

Formed in 1846, Bristol County Savings Bank has been a supporter of the Boy Scouts of America since the organization’s inception in 1910.

The Narragansett Council, Boy Scouts of America’s mission is to serve others by helping to instill values in young people and prepare them to make ethical choices throughout their lifetime as they strive to achieve their full potential.
