Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation, the nonprofit arm of Bristol County Savings Bank, recently awarded a $10,000 grant to Massasoit Community College. This is the third consecutive year that the foundation has awarded the grant, which supports a college-readiness program between Massasoit and Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School.
“One of Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation’s areas of emphasis is education and literacy, so the bank understands that young people in our community hold the key to the future,” said Patrick Murray, president of the foundation and executive vice president, treasurer and chief operating officer of Bristol County Savings Bank. “The strides we see due to the strong partnership between Massasoit Community College and Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School make our funding decision an easy one year after year.”
The grant will be used to support the continued expansion of high school and college-credit courses at Bridgewater-Raynham, as well as academic programming to reduce the number of students who have to take developmental courses at the college level. •
