PROVIDENCE – Brown University and the University of Rhode Island are among 116 employers recently recognized by WorldatWork, a nonprofit human resources association, with Work-Life 2016 Seal of Distinction Awards.
The awards recognize organizations leading the change in the workplace by creating and implementing successful work-life programs and policies.
A gala awards dinner will be held March 9 at the WorldatWork 2016 Future of Work Forum in New Orleans to celebrate the recipients.
“This year, WorldatWork is honored to recognize a diverse group of organizations who are demonstrating that employee engagement and work-life effectiveness is a business imperative for organizations large and small. By understanding the value of investing in their employees, each organization has taken a critical step toward future business success,” Anne Ruddy, president and CEO of WorldatWork, said in a statement.
The Seal of Distinction Awards were created in 2012. Applicants are evaluated on work-life programs, policies and practices such as caring for dependents, flexibility, paid and unpaid time off, workforce experience and engagement, health and wellness, financial support and education, and community involvement.
