PROVIDENCE – Brown University is one of the top 50 schools for a computer science degree, according to College Choice, a college search and rankings website.

“From cell phones to video games, to health care technology, CS graduates are in high demand. When you cross the stage to receive your undergrad diploma, you will not have to search hard for employment; jobs will be searching for you! A computer science degree allows graduates to pursue further study in graduate programs or enter a number of jobs in the computing industry,” Stanley Talbert, associate editor of the ranking, said in a statement.
College Choice looked at academic reputation, student satisfaction, net cost, average financial aid package and average first-year salary to come up with its list.
University of California-Berkeley tops the list, followed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology and California Institute of Technology. Brown was 30th on the list. College Choice said Brown’s Computer Science Department encourages student involvement on the undergraduate level.
“Students play a crucial role in teaching and research as teaching assistants and research collaboration,” College Choice said about the Brown program.
