NEW YORK – Bloomberg’s Businessweek included Bryant University and Providence College in its annual ratings of 123 undergraduate business schools, which were broken down into 14 areas of academic specialty in the rankings.

Bryant’s undergraduate international business program climbed to a No. 16 national ranking, capping a rapid two-year rise for the program, which was ranked No. 41 in 2011. International business is also one of Bryant’s fastest-growing academic areas.

Providence College’s highest-rated program was operations management, ranked No. 39. The college also scored high marks for its finance program, at No. 40, and ethics program, at No. 45.

But two of PC’s programs – corporate strategy and entrepreneurship – came in dead last in the survey. Another four were ranked below No. 100.

Of Bryant’s other programs, only operations management and finance were ranked in the top half of business schools, at No. 55 and No. 56, respectively. Six of its programs were ranked lower than No. 100.

The rankings also included internship figures for the business schools. By that measure, Bryant ranked 64th, with 75.29 percent of students finding at least one business internship, and Providence College ranked 83rd, at 67.9 percent.

Businessweek’s rankings were compiled based on surveys sent to seniors graduating from the programs this spring.
