SMITHFIELD – Bryant University’s Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization was named the best chapter in the United States Oct. 29.
Bryant, where “entrepreneurship” was the No. 1 declared major among incoming students this fall, has won that distinction for four of the past five years.
The announcement was made at the CEO national convention in Fort Worth, Texas. There are 235 chapters and more than 100 attended the conference.
The Bryant CEO chapter was recognized for the workshops, guest speakers and hands-on learning activities it sponsored in the past year, a news release said.
“Moreover, the club has nurtured and supported young entrepreneurs who have actually launched businesses while here on campus,” said Michael A. Roberto, Trustee Professor of Management, who co-advises the club.
Bryant highlighted that the club co-sponsored the 54-hour Startup Weekend New England; helped more than 15 students launch their own businesses; held a “How to Find Your Inspiration” workshop with presentations by number of entrepreneurs; and provided free consulting services.
Bryant will also host the regional CEO conference Feb. 3 to 4, featuring a number of “how to” workshops led by entrepreneurs and other business professionals.
“Bryant CEO is so successful because we have become experts at collaboration and cross-functional teamwork,” said Laura Yepsen, the club’s event coordinator.
