Builders Association launches online directory

EAST PROVIDENCE – The Rhode Island Builders Association has launched an online directory of the organization’s 1,000 members designed to help property owners find a local contractor.

The website, ribalist.com, allows users to search for contractors by zip code and business category.

“It’s one place where folks can find a contractor, supplier, electrician, plumber, remodeler, banker, painter and more,” Builders Association Executive Director John Marcantonio said announcing the website. “And, it’s important to note that our members who are contractors are required to maintain their state registrations and carry insurance. The internet is full of contractor listings and although many contain referrals and reviews, the public should always be cautious about the potential for anonymous and fake content.”

The list also includes advice on hiring a contractor including the number of people to interview and credentials to check.
