CVS Caremark Corp. executives and a pharmacist from CVS/ pharmacy recently visited Our Sisters’ School in New Bedford as part of the school’s luncheon-speaker series, and surprised the school with a $200,000 donation to provide scholarships for 16 girls.
“The fact that these professionals took time out of their schedules to meet and inspire our students is, in and of itself, a great gift,” said Lisa Yates, executive director of Our Sisters’ School. “When you combine this with the generous donation provided by the CVS Caremark Charitable Trust, words cannot express our gratitude.”
Our Sisters’ School was opened in September 2008 to serve as a middle school for girls, grades five through eight, in the New Bedford area. The school now has an enrollment of 60 students.
Eileen Howard Boone, senior vice president of corporate communications and community relations for CVS Caremark, said “We are so pleased to meet these bright, young ladies and to know that our support can play a small role in helping them learn and succeed in life.” &#8226
