CVS Caremark donates $25K to Children’s Hospital

Posted 10/29/12

Before a Sept. 21 Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park, CVS Caremark Corp. presented a $25,000 donation to Boston Children’s Hospital.

The donation marks more than $1 million in total donations to the children’s hospital since it formed a relationship with CVS Caremark more than six years ago. The funds, from the CVS Caremark Charitable Trust and the CVS Caremark All Kids Can Program, will support the hospital’s cerebral palsy program and its Center for Communication Enhancement.

“Year after year, we are so pleased to see the successful results from our partnership with Boston Children’s Hospital,” said Eileen Howard Boone, senior vice president of corporate communications and community relations for CVS Caremark. “It is a terrific opportunity to be able to work with such an esteemed institution to help children on their path to better health.”

To commemorate the evening, Boston Children’s Hospital patient Joe Scarlata of Braintree threw the ceremonial first pitch. Scarlata has spastic diplegia, a form of cerebral palsy, and has been a patient since the age of 2. •
