CVS, Humana partner to offer in-store health insurance payments

WOONSOCKET – Humana Inc. and CVS/pharmacy, the retail division of CVS Health, said that Humana members with individual, non-Medicare plans purchased from exchanges or humana.com can now pay their health insurance premiums in cash, credit or debit via “bill pay at CVS/pharmacy.”
The new bill payment platform was launched between CVS/pharmacy and InComm earlier this year, and will help newly insured people maintain their health insurance by providing an easy, convenient and fee-free method of paying their monthly insurance bill.
Humana, based in Kentucky, is the first health company to join Bill Pay at CVS/pharmacy, allowing Humana members to make health insurance payments at any of CVS/pharmacy’s U.S. retail locations in approved states, at no additional cost to them.
Plan members can bring barcoded health insurance premium bills to any participating CVS/pharmacy and make a payment. CVS then scans the barcode and collects the member’s desired payment, which will be securely transferred to Humana.
“Providing access to innovative ways to manage health insurance premiums is an example of how we are reinventing pharmacy for better health,” Josh Flum, senior vice president of retail pharmacy at CVS Health, said in a statement. “We’re pleased to expand upon our existing partnership with Humana to educate people about their health coverage options by taking this step in providing even more of our customers with the quick and easy option of making their health insurance payments in our stores.”
