BOSTON – Players in the Cumberland Challengers Little League – a league for baseball players with physical and/or developmental disorders – were recently treated to a special day of major league baseball.

As part of the CVS Caremark All Kids Can baseball camp, the team and their family members arrived at Fenway Park, where they spent the day touring the grounds, participating in batting practice and meeting the team mascot, all before taking in an evening Red Sox game.

Traves Ogilvie, coach of the Cumberland team, said his players were excited to participate.

“This opportunity means so much to them and to their families,” he added.

Eileen Howard Boone, senior vice president of corporate communications and community relations for CVS Caremark Corp., said this is the eighth year the company has partnered with the Red Sox to provide the camps, which continue to be meaningful experiences.

“To see the joy on the children’s faces as they first enter this historic park and the pride they experience the moment they connect with the ball is touching,” she said.
