PROVIDENCE – Cable Car Cinema is one of 23 theaters nationwide selected for the Sundance Institute Art House Project, designed to recognize theaters in North America with excellence in programming, community involvement and operations.
This is the first class of Sundance Institute Art House Project theaters, according to a release about the project.
It said the program is a “unique opportunity” for theaters interested in engaging with Art House Convergence and Sundance Institute. All of the theaters named met standards including: quality programming, deep involvement with their local communities, strong financial standing, and recognition from their peers and their communities.
Art House Convergence began in 2005 as the Sundance Institute Art House Project, celebrating the 25th anniversary of Sundance Institute by honoring a small group of leading U.S. art house theaters.
