CRANSTON – Cadence Inc., a contract manufacturer of products for the medical industry, was one of three businesses selected as Employer of Choice Award recipients by the Employers Association of the NorthEast.
Awards were given at EANE’s Employment Law and HR Practices Conference luncheon at the Springfield Marriott in Massachusetts on Nov. 5. The awards recognize companies and organizations for developing workplaces that value employees, promote engagement, invest in training and reward performance, EANE said.
All winners received a video highlighting the company’s achievements.
“This year, we were thrilled to see our applicants focus on employee engagement, often implementing surveys and translating the findings to mission-vision-culture strategies,” Meredith Wise, EANE president, said in a statement. “Traditional benefits such as tuition reimbursement were still strong but contemporary offerings from wellness to flexible scheduling to community service were widespread, too.”
Cadence, which is headquartered in Staunton, Va., has 300 employees in Cranston and Plymouth, Mass.
Two other companies were recognized with awards: Bemis Associates Inc. of Shirley, Mass., and Big Y Foods Inc. of Springfield, Mass.
Employers from Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island who have been in business for at least three years and have a minimum of 25 employees are eligible to participate; both the company size and its resources are considered in the screening and selection process, according to EANE. Entrants are judged on company culture, training and development, communication, recognition and reward, and work-life balance.
