Head to Newport’s Fort Adams this weekend to see Civil War history come alive. During a two-day reenactment, troops will be in traditional dress as spectators watch parades, demonstrations and artillery and troop drills. Those in attendance can also listen to lectures and check out displays, including the Union and Confederate camps, where soldiers typically strategized and relaxed after battle. Re-enactors will be on hand during demonstrations to answer historical questions. Those who wish to attend both days can take advantage of half-price readmission on Sunday.
