Cape Wind chooses Falmouth as base of operations

BOSTON – Cape Wind Associates plans to base its wind farm operations on Falmouth, Mass., reported the Boston Business Journal.

Cape Wind announced its plan during a conference call on Thursday, adding that it signed a purchase and sales agreement for the East Marine boat yard, located on Falmouth Heights Road.

According to the news source, the site will employ 50 permanent, full-time workers.

The Cape Wind project received Federal Aviation Administration approval to go ahead with the project on Wednesday, Aug. 15.
