Cardosi joins Young Voices board

JONATHAN P. CARDOSI, an associate at law firm Higgins, Cavanagh & Cooney LLP, was recently appointed to the Young Voices board of directors. Cardosi has been with the firm since 2013 and his practice covers a breadth of civil-litigation matters, including construction disputes, insurance coverage and defense, and product liability.
He holds a B.A. from Boston College, magna cum laude, and a J.D. From Tulane University School of Law. Before he graduated from Tulane, Cardosi served as the senior business editor and a managing editor for the Tulane Environmental Law Journal.

What is the mission of Young Voices?

Young Voices is the only statewide organization that empowers low-income youths to become advocates and confident leaders in their communities. It trains participants to understand issues, think strategically, speak out and lead on critical issues, such as public education. Through Young Voices, students graduate from high school, successfully complete college and become highly successful adults.

Two issues that dominate the legal literature are fracking and coastline erosion. Although fracking isn’t an immediate local concern, policymakers and professionals in the Ocean State are certainly well-aware of the importance of coastal resources. Given their historical significance to the economic and cultural identity of the state, these concerns will remain vital topics of public discourse here.
