Care New England makes senior appointments

PROVIDENCE – Care New England recently announced a series of senior appointments within the Providence-based health care system, which is the parent organization of Butler Hospital and Women & Infants Hospital in Providence, Kent Hospital in Warwick, Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island in Pawtucket, and the VNA of Care New England, based in Warwick. The announcement was made by Dennis D. Keefe, president and CEO of Care New England. The appointments are effective Monday, July 1.

The new Care New England chief operating officer is Sandra Coletta, who had served in the system’s COO role on a part-time basis since 2012 in addition to maintaining her role as president and CEO of Kent Hospital. Coletta moves into the role on a full-time basis.

The new Care New England senior vice president for education and training is Dr. Patricia Recupero. With this appointment, Recupero will transition to part-time status and move on from her position as president and CEO of Butler Hospital.

The new Kent Hospital president and COO is Dr. Michael J. Dacey, who most recently served as Care New England’s chief clinical integration officer.

The new Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island president and COO is Edward Schottland, who had been acting president since last September.

The new acting president and COO of Butler Hospital is Dr. Lawrence H. Price, who had most recently been serving as senior vice president and chief medical officer at Butler.
