Care Thread partners with Yankee Alliance

PROVIDENCE – Care Thread, a provider of secure mobile messaging and team-based collaboration solutions for the medical industry, has partnered with Yankee Alliance, a Andover, Mass.-based group purchasing organization.

The partnership will allow the Betaspring alumni to help the more than 96 acute care hospitals and more than 12,800 member sites in the Yankee Alliance network maximize communications and productivity across care teams.

“The partnership with Care Thread will enable Yankee Alliance member organizations to have access to groundbreaking technology,” said Craig Shoukimas, director of contracting for Yankee Alliance. “Care Thread’s technology is an asset we feel our members can use to their advantage and directly affect the quality of care a patient receives.”

Founded by a management team with extensive healthcare and IT experience, Care Thread’s platform delivers HIPAA-compliant mobile messaging solutions, which enable hospitals to support real-time mobile communications while avoiding the security risks of provider texting.

“Care Thread maps each patient’s hospital provider care team and utilizes a suite of tools, including hand-off summaries and task lists, that are shared amongst team members to foster better care coordination,” said a company release. These tools work to promote improved teamwork, care coordination and patient safety while reducing time in the hospital.

“We are pleased to have formed this strategic relationship with Yankee Alliance, and look forward to delivering a solution to its members that enhances the collaboration and security of care team communications,” Dr. Scott Guelich, co-founder and CEO of Care Thread, said in a statement. “Our team is excited to engage with Yankee Alliance members to help them identify new ways to leverage mobile devices to the benefit of their patients while maintaining full compliance with HIPAA and HITECH guidelines.”
