Carey School conversion nears completion

NEWPORT – Only four units remain in the conversion of the former Carey School in Newport to condominiums, including two penthouses.
Nine of the 13 units in the former school have been sold, according to a news release from Libby Kerwin Real Estate and DiPrete Engineering.
The property, at 32 Carey St., is 118-years-old and within walking distance of several amenities in downtown Newport, including the International Tennis Hall of Fame and Salve Regina University.
All condominium units have open floor plans, cathedral ceilings and access to the building’s rooftop deck, according to Libby Kirwin Real Estate, which is handling all sales transactions.
Design was completed by DiPrete Engineering, Durkee Brown Viveiros Werenfels Architects and Turner Scott of Miller Scott & Holbrook. Construction of the units was completed by Behan Brothers and J.A.M. Construction Co.
