Sunday, FirstWorks will present “Celebration of Flight,” a program featuring soaring kites, large-scale puppets and flags. The performance explores the question “how do birds learn to fly?” and centers on a baby whooping crane and her discovery of her global role in the planet’s seasonal tilt. Families are invited to join the performance by flying kites, playing drums and noisemakers, and dancing along. A free preshow kite building workshop run by Ibex Puppetry and FirstWorks volunteers will be held prior to the performance.
