Chafee, Avedisian to lead forum

WARWICK – A community business forum to explore ways for small businesses to succeed, grow the economy and create jobs for Rhode Islanders will be held May 30 in Warwick.
Gov. Lincoln D. Chafee will lead the forum, in collaboration with Warwick Mayor Scott Avedisian. Also participating will be representatives from the Rhode Island Economic Development Corp., the state Department of Labor and Training, the state Office of Regulatory Reform, the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Rhode Island Small Business Development Center, the Ocean State Business Development Authority and the Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce.
Topics will include access to financing and credit for small business, permitting processes and energy efficiency programs.
The business forum will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the Pilgrim Senior Center. For information, contact jhoward@riedc.com.
