Chamber of Commerce hosts Hiring our Heroes job fair

WARWICK – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s National Chamber Foundation will host Hiring Our Heroes – Warwick, a job fair for veterans and military spouses on Friday, Nov. 9 from 1-4 p.m. at the Community College of Rhode Island.

More than 70 employers are expected to participate, according to a release, with jobs available for veterans and military spouses of all levels of experience.

Since its inception in March 2011, the Hiring Our Heroes program has held more than 330 job fairs across the country have helped more than 14,100 veterans and military spouses find work.

Friday’s event is part of “Hiring 500,000 Heroes,” a national campaign from the U.S. Chamber, National Chamber Foundation and Capital One, to hire 500,000 veterans and military spouses by the end of 2014.

Interested employers and job seekers should register for free at hoh.greatjob.hot. Walk-in job seekers are allowed and veterans must provide a military ID.

The job fair event is being held in participation with the R.I. Chamber of Commerce Coalition, the R.I. Department of Labor and Training, the Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve, the U.S. Department of Labor Veterans Employment & Training Service, the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, the American Legion and other local partners.
