Chelo’s Restaurant Group recently donated $11,078 in proceeds from the Chelo’s 24th annual Golf Classic to The Providence Center to support behavioral health services for children and families. The tournament saw more than 100 golfers participate in the event at the Cranston Country Club, which also included a raffle and silent auction.

“Chelo’s generous donation will help ensure that The Providence Center is able to continue to meet the needs of children and adolescents who are experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges,” said Dale Klatzker, president and CEO of The Providence Center. “This gift is a testament to the Chelo family’s commitment to helping Rhode Islanders in need of behavioral health services.”

The Providence Center, which was founded in 1969, now serves more than 10,000 people annually with mental health and substance-abuse services as well as 39 additional programs providing food, housing, job training, legal, and health and wellness services. •
