Children’s Museum nets $67K at gala

The Providence Children’s Museum raised nearly $67,000 recently to benefit the museum and help provide valuable play and learning opportunities for children and families in need at its annual gala fundraiser, “Unplugged – The Way to Play.”
More than 200 guests attended the event at Roger Williams Park’s Botanical Center. Patrons bid nearly $15,000 on 66 live and silent auction items, including an E-Z-GO golf cart and a party for 50 from Flatbread Pizza Company. They also supported museum exhibit projects to inspire children’s learning.
The event also honored community leaders, including: Elizabeth Burke Bryant, executive director of Rhode Island KIDS COUNT; Dr. Rajiv Kumar, founder and CEO of ShapeUp; Jamie Oliver at Home, a direct sales business headquartered in Pawtucket; and The Partnership for Providence Parks, which provides support and resources for groups seeking to transform their neighborhood parks. •
