Children’s Museum raises<br> $47,000 at tournament

EAST PROVIDENCE – The Providence Children’s Museum’s 31st annual Allen H. Chatterton Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament raised a record $47,000 to benefit the museum’s exhibits and educational programming.
More than 100 golfers across southern New England took part Aug. 4 in the event presented by Admirals Bank at the Wannamoisett Country Club in Rumford.
Money raised included $6,350 in bidding on silent auction items and $3,675 for a raffle and contest holes around the course. Donors also supported educational museum projects that included giving to nearly a dozen charitable memberships for low-income families.
Winning teams included: low net team: Christian Leibl-Cote and the team from AAA Member Choice Vacations; low gross team: Larry Blau and the team from LW Blau Restoration; individual low net: Joe Falzone of AAA Member Choice Vacations; and individual low gross: Mike Hogan of TD Bank. The team from LW Blau Restoration won a special contest sponsored by Chatterton Insurance.
Allen H. Chatterton III, chaired the tournament this year for the 25th consecutive year in memory of his father.
