Citizens names new controller and chief accounting officer

PROVIDENCE – Citizens Financial Group Inc. last week appointed Randall J. Black controller and chief accounting officer who will take over on April 18.
Black will replace Ronald Ohsberg, who Citizens says has left the company “to pursue other interests.” Chief Financial Officer Eric Aboaf will assume responsibilities of chief accounting officer on an interim basis until Black starts in April.
Black, 59, most recently served as CEO reporting to the claims administration for the economic and property damages settlement stemming from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill, according to a press release. He also worked as managing director for Citigroup’s mortgage division and as deputy chief accountant of the Office of the Comptroller of Currency.
Black agreed to enter employment with an annual base salary of $400,000 and a variable compensation opportunity of $450,000 guaranteed for the 2016 performance year, according to the terms of his employment. Black will also receive an $840,000 buy-out award related to his previous employment, which will be granted in deferred cash and restricted stock units, according to Citizens.
