Claflin makes changes in management, announces promotions

WARWICK – Anne-Marie Johnson recently was appointed to the new position of president, chief operating officer at The Claflin Co., as Ted Almon has transitioned to the role of chairman.
Almon, previously president and CEO, will continue to have oversight of both Claflin and Claflin Medical Equipment, but without direct, day-to-day responsibilities. The change took effect last month at the company, which distributes medical and surgical products.
“Anne-Marie and I have worked strategically and closely together for several decades. I intend to still be available and visible in this initial phase of the reorganization and I will continue to be responsible for and maintain the many close customer and business relationships I have developed in my 40 years here at Claflin,” Almon wrote in a letter to employees.
Almon became president and CEO of The Claflin Company in 1976, upon its purchase by the Almon Company.
Johnson joined Claflin in 1978. According to her biography provided by Claflin, “she has contributed much to the growth and success of the company.” Her experience with inventory, purchasing, human resources and both customer and vendor contracts was noted.
