Clothing drive benefits
Big Brother Big Sister

Posted:

Lapels Dry Cleaning, an environmentally friendly dry cleaning company, recently donated an estimated $10,000 worth of clothing to raise money for Big Brother Big Sister in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Arizona.

Lapels Dry Cleaning customers donated more than 9,000 pounds of clothing, including 391 pounds at the Rhode Island location in Lincoln. That amount is more than double from last year’s drive thanks to the added participation from stores in New Jersey and Arizona. The donated clothing will be resold at various thrift shops and other second hand clothing stores in the region.

“Our New England stores really stepped it up for this clothing drive,” said Kevin Dubois, CEO of Lapels Dry Cleaning. “Lapels prides itself on being environmentally friendly. A part of that is giving back to the communities we serve. We’re grateful to have a customer base that shares that spirit of giving.”

Big Brother Big Sister is a volunteer-supported youth mentoring organization serving children who face adversity.
