DARTMOUTH – The University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth has made College Choice’s 2017 ranking of the best master’s in marketing degrees.

UMass Dartmouth ranked 28th on the list, which featured 35 colleges.

College Choice, a website that helps students and their families find the right colleges, said the MBA with a marketing concentration offered through UMass-Dartmouth’s Charlton College of Business “allows students to explore the ins-and-outs of successful management of marketing, including elements of the entire process, from development to research, distribution, promotion, sales, wholesaling, purchasing and more.”

It noted an online MBA program also is available for working professionals who need a more flexible academic experience. And, it said there is also a hybrid option, allowing students to take classes online and on-campus.

College Choice said that the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics anticipates 19 percent growth in marketing research analysis in the next decade, and 9 percent growth in marketing management.

On average, those with bachelor’s degrees in marketing make around $62,000 annually, but those who earn a master’s degree, either in marketing specifically, or a MBA with specialization in marketing, can make double that amount, College Choice said.

“In juxtaposing the job growth with the return on investment, it becomes clear that obtaining a graduate degree in marketing will serve you now and in the long run,” College Choice said.

The University of Pennsylvania ranked first on the list; College Choice noted it is home to the world’s first collegiate school of business, the Wharton School, and its MBA is ranked first by Business Insider, as its graduates have the highest average salary and employment rate of all business schools in the country.
