THE GABRIELLE DINSMORE HEART & HOPE FUND, recently selected as The Collette Foundation’s Charity of the Year, was established in memory of Gabrielle Dinsmore, above, who died from a congenital heart defect.

The Collette Foundation, the charitable arm of Collette Vacations, has designated The Gabrielle Dinsmore Heart & Hope Fund as its 2013 Charity of the Year.
The fund was established by Jeffrey and Louise Dinsmore shortly after their daughter, Gabrielle, died from a congenital heart defect in 2010. Today, it provides educational, emotional, recreational and financial support to children and families impacted by congenital heart disease, heart defects and severe feeding issues in Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
In support, The Collette Foundation will present the charity with a $5,000 grant and the majority of funds raised through weekly employee dress down days, which the foundation will also match.
“We hope our contribution helps to generate awareness [of] Gabrielle’s story and gives other kids the chance to have greater independence despite their heart conditions,” said Lynne Kelly, Collette’s community relations manager.
Collette employees will also volunteer at the nonprofit’s events. •
