The Collette Foundation, the charitable arm of tour operator Collette Vacations, recently won a World Travel Market Global Award in recognition of its global philanthropic work over the past 12 months.
An employee-run initiative, the foundation connects staff, vendors and travelers to more than 20 projects, including nourishment programs, support to orphanages and foster homes and the building of community centers and schools, in nearly 20 countries. Collette’s president and CEO, Dan Sullivan Jr., launched the Collette Foundation in 2007 after he had witnessed the effects of poverty at a school in Peru.
“As a company that showcases the world to our travelers, we are dedicated to seeing it change for the better,” said Diane Ditto, product manager of Collette Vacations. “Receiving the World Travel Market Global Award is a tremendous honor for the foundation as we continue to focus on improving the lives of children across the globe.”
The awards give World Trade Market’s official media partners a platform to congratulate and recognize those companies and individuals who have made the greatest contributions to travel and tourism in their region for that year. •
