Posted 11/16/12

After a monthlong Thanksgiving food drive, Collette Vacations delivered 1,118 pounds of nonperishable items to the St. Edward Food and Wellness Center.

Throughout the month of October, the company’s employees in each department were challenged to bring in donations for the center, which provides food, clothing and medical care for about 400 local families in need each week.

“We greatly appreciate the generous support from Collette Vacations, especially at a time when food resources are very low and the need continues to increase,” said Lori Porcaro, program director at Saint Edward. “The quality and variety of food we received from Collette will go a long way in helping working families that are having a difficult time making ends meet.”

The donations arrived at a good time according to Porcaro, who said the center experiences its largest demand during the month of November.

“We are extremely proud of all the Collette employees for donating essential items to such a meaningful organization ,” said Lynne Kelly, Collette Foundation manager domestic for Collette Vacations.
