In April, Collette employees served meals to the hungry at McAuley House, a Providence-based meal site and house of hospitality during the company’s seventh day of service in honor of National Volunteer Month.
“In addition to being a faithful supporter of our work, Collette has developed a strong volunteer program that gives their employees an opportunity to experience firsthand the benefits of helping others,” said Don Wolfe, executive director of McAuley Ministries. “We are very appreciative of Collette’s ongoing generosity. It’s a privilege to work with a group of such caring individuals.”
This is the seventh year that Collette Cares, the company’s charitable initiative, has sponsored the McAuley House “Lunch on Us” program, awarding the organization with a $10,000 grant and providing hours of volunteer support.
Since becoming one of the first to get involved with “Lunch on Us” in 2007, Collette employees have served meals on nearly 50 occasions, donating more than 400 hours to serve thousands of hot lunches to men, women and children in need at McAuley House. •
