Comments on the House Finance Committee FY 2010 budget?

Here we are, in the last two weeks of June, and once again the state’s budget has just been introduced in the General Assembly by the House leadership.

The projected deficit for fiscal year 2010 is $586.6 million, or nearly one-sixth of the state’s share of the budget (the federal government contributes roughly half of the $7.76 billion budget).

Are the choices which that Democratic leadership of the House made to balance the budget good ones? Will they help or hurt the state in its efforts to grow its economy by attracting businesses to the state while helping local businesses grow?
