SOUTH KINGSTOWN – The Commodore Perry Farm, the birthplace of Naval war hero Oliver Hazard Perry, was sold for $2.75 million, marking the highest sale in town in more than three years, according to Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty.
The farm, sold on March 6, is at 1591 Commodore Perry Highway.
The seller was Carroll T. Tickner, according to the assessor’s office. The buyer was Commodore Farm & Vineyard LLC.
“This property offers luxury at its finest in the heart of Matunuck Hills. No detail has been overlooked in this unique home with outdoor grounds that present an unmatched pastoral view. It has been my pleasure to represent the sellers of this exquisite estate with such an impressive and extensive history,” Judy Chace said in a statement.
Located on 12 acres, the farm was established in the 1600s, and is surrounded by protected farmland and stone walls. The home, at more than 8,000 square feet, has four bedrooms. The buyer also purchased an additional parcel of land that was not included in the original offering, according to the realty office.
