Community-needs assessment findings to be presented

PROVIDENCE – On May 1, the Hospital Association of Rhode Island will release the findings from its statewide community-health needs assessment and launch a new community health website, prepared in collaboration with the R.I. Department of Health.
The release event will take place at Women & Infants Hospital in the South Pavilion from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Research on the health needs assessment was conducted by Holleran Consulting, under the guidance of HARI. The goal was to quantify, community by community, the health needs of residents, and then translate the trends identified by the research into improved strategies to better meet the needs of residents and improve health outcomes.
The new online portal will display statewide health indicators and data; Rhode Island will be the fifth state in the nation to offer such a statewide community-health website.
The new website will highlight the hospitals’ commitment to public health by tracking statewide improvement and showcasing best practices, according to HARI.
