Preventure is a health-improvement company that knows how to take its own medicine.
The company staff solves health care challenges for clients in the United States and Canada by offering custom-fit wellness solutions. When it came time to develop an in-house plan, the company’s scope was nothing short of epic.
“I believe the approach to our company’s health and wellness is captured in the name of our program: ‘Fit for Life – Mission Possible,’ ” said CEO Mark Correia.
Preventure’s workplace-wellness program has gained in popularity over the years. The company uses its expertise in the field to ensure Fit for Life is increasingly innovative and on the cusp of every new trend in wellness, focusing in areas of nutrition, physical activity, spirituality, emotional well-being, as well as cultural, environmental, intellectual and occupational factors.
“It is not only the responsibility of a company to facilitate, but to constantly demonstrate to employees that it cares about each person’s overall well-being,” said Correia. “In addition, it’s good business. Employees who are healthy have lower health-related costs, are more productive and have higher morale.”
The wellness program’s hub is accessible through the Fit for Life wellness Web portal and houses the quarterly Fit for Life calendar. Scheduled events include on- and off-site fitness classes, massage therapy, guided meditation, biometric screening events, healthy lunches, a recipe swap, individual health coaching and group outings.
“At the end of the day, we have fun and are rewarded for doing what we do best – promoting wellness,” said Correia. •
