EAST GREENWICH – Corvias Foundation, a private, charitable foundation and the charitable arm of Corvias Group, has awarded 11 college scholarships of up to $50,000 to outstanding high school students, marking the 10th class of scholarship recipients.
The scholarships provide financial assistance over each student’s four years of study, as well as a support network committed to his or her academic and professional growth.
Students who are children of an active-duty military family receive scholarships in the amount of up to $12,500 per year for four years to pursue a secondary education at colleges and universities around the country.

“Every year we’re excited to reward hard-working and ambitious scholars with these scholarships,” Maria Montalvo, Corvias Foundation executive director, said in a statement. “The foundation has been providing scholarships for almost a decade, and I’m still amazed each year by the impressive backgrounds and professional goals we read in the submissions. This is yet another wonderful class of scholars we’re adding to our family.”

Corvias Foundation awards scholarships based on merit and need. To date, it has awarded nearly $6 million through more than 300 scholarships. Each student was required to respond to four questions that highlighted different aspects of their lives as students and as members of an active-duty military family.
Said Corvias Group CEO John Picerne, “While the knowledge and professional skills one attains are extremely important, this is also a critical time for personal development. The scholarships will help these young scholars live out that true college experience and get the most out of the opportunity.”
The 11 graduating seniors are the children of active-duty service members stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, Fort Meade and Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland, Fort Polk in Louisiana, Fort Riley in Kansas and Fort Sill in Oklahoma.
Privately-owned Corvias Group has three business divisions – Corvias Military Living, Corvias Campus Living and Corvias Solutions.
