Covidien appoints Strayer as new senior VP

MANSFIELD – Biotechnology maker Covidien Plc as appointed Jacqueline Strayer as its new senior vice president of corporate communications, effective immediately.
In her new role, Strayer will report directly to Covidien Chairman, President and CEO Jose E. Almeida and will be responsible for leading the company’s global communications strategies.
“Jacqueline brings strong global leadership and strategic communications experience to Covidien. She has an impressive track record of accomplishments and we are delighted to have her join the Covidien leadership team,” said Almeida in prepared remarks.
The role encompasses internal and external communications initiatives including corporate marketing, public relations, media relations, financial communications, crisis communications, issues management, philanthropy and the company’s digital presence, according to a Covidien release.
