Cox Communications finalizing transition to ‘all digital’ network

WEST WARWICK – Cox Communications said it finalized its transition to an “all digital” network on Aug. 18, an effort that had been under way since March.
The company, in a news release, explained that it has transitioned from analog service, and, as a result, all channels are now digital.

“Customers have been notified throughout our transition via a comprehensive communication campaign designed to explain the benefits and potential action needed for digital evolution,” the company said.
Most customers affected by the change, those with televisions connected directly to the cable line without a set-top box, have already taken action and ordered mini boxes, Cox said. Those who have not placed orders have until Dec. 16 to take advantage of promotional pricing for mini boxes at www.cox.com/goalldigital. All televisions will need a digital device to get cable service, Cox said.
“This upgrade will lead to both short-term and long-term customer benefits,” Cox said. “Many customers will immediately enjoy a better television viewing experience, including better picture and sound quality, HD channels, and, in many cases, access to more channels and the interactive channel guide. The added capacity will also enable future product enhancements such as faster Internet speeds.”
