Cox opens bilingual store in Providence

PROVIDENCE – Cox Communications announced the opening of its new store at 1224 North Main St. – the first in its 16-state footprint to have a bilingual staff.

“While we’ve long supported important community-based organizations with cash and in-kind support, our Providence Solutions Store further demonstrates our long-term commitment to the needs of our Hispanic customers,” said Paul Cronin, senior vice president and general manager of Cox New England. The store also has bilingual signage and literature.

Cox held the grand opening with U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, Providence Mayor Angel Taveras, state Sen. Juan M. Pichardo and Cox Communications Senior Vice President and General Manager Paul Cronin in attendance.

The new North Main location replaces one on Houghton Street. There are other Cox Solutions Stores in Warwick, Smithfield and South County, a news release said.
