WEST WARWICK – Cox Communications has appointed Dana Alexander Nolfe as its director of communications.

In her new role, Nolfe will oversee internal and external communications, including social media and media relations in Rhode Island, Connecticut and Ohio.

Prior to her position at Cox, Nolfe was chief public affairs officer at the R.I. Department of Transportation. In that role, she handled all of DOT’s public relations activities, including special events, media relations, media campaigns, social media and speech writing.

“Dana’s communications background will be a strong asset as we continue to evolve in a fiercely competitive environment.” John Wolfe, senior vice president and general manager of Cox Communications said in prepared remarks. “Communicating with our valued employees and customers is essential to our goal of providing exceptional customer experiences.”

Nolfe, a North Kingstown resident, is also an adjunct professor of communications at Bryant University.
