Belle Mer recently hosted the 10th annual March of Dimes Signature Chef Event, which raised $95,000 for the March of Dimes mission to improve the health of babies. More than 260 guests attended the culinary event and auction, which featured the talents of 24 local chefs. In addition, the March of Dimes 2011 Signature Chef Award was presented to chef Saj Viswanath of DeWolf Tavern.
“We are thrilled about the outcome of this wonderful event and the participation of chef Saj and all the other top-notch chefs who came to Belle Mer from all parts of the state and on their own time to prepare samplings of their signature dishes for guests,” said Betsy Akin, director, Rhode Island March of Dimes. “These unforgettable dishes, combined with the fantastic packages Sir Jeremy Bill auctioned off to guests made for a hugely successful night.”
The auction, which was led by auctioneer and entertainer Sir Jeremy Bill of Edinburgh, Scotland, included restaurant, theater, hotel and vacation packages. &#8226
