DiMuccio, MarcAurele honored by Boy Scouts

EAST PROVIDENCE – The Narragansett council of the Boy Scouts of America awarded Robert A. DiMuccio, president, chairman and CEO of the Amica Mutual Insurance Co. and Joseph J. MarcAurele, president, chairman and CEO of the Washington Trust Co. with this year’s Senator John H. Chafee Distinguished Citizens Award at its annual Distinguished Citizens Award Luncheon on June 27 The Westin Providence.
“Each year the Council recognizes distinguished community leaders and business executives whose lives and accomplishments embody Scouting principles,” said John Mosby, Scout Executive/CEO for the Narragansett Council, in a statement. “This year’s recipients are role models for local youth and serve as shining examples within our community.”
The Distinguished Citizens Award is named in honor of the late Senator John H. Chafee, a Scout in his youth and a distinguished Narragansett Council alumnus, and late father of Gov. Lincoln D. Chafee. The luncheon raises money to support the ScoutReach Program which expands scouting to more than 1,500 young people in at-risk urban neighborhoods and cities including Providence, Fall River and New Bedford.
