A Michigan disaster response company arrives in Rhode Island to immediately begin assisting with cleanup and repairs from the historic flood damage that has occurred over the past forty-eight hours. Jarvis Property Restoration of Harrison Township, Michigan is a national disaster response company and has been actively working in the Boston Massachusetts area for the past two weeks following the flooding damages caused in early March from torrential rain storms. Jarvis deployed a team of first responders to Providence on Tuesday, March 30th to begin coordinating relief efforts for property owners who have been devastated by the recent storm. Jarvis presently has twelve work crews and several semi-trucks of equipment in the Providence area and has additional work crew’s en-route to assist with cleanup efforts. Jarvis has a team of IICRC technicians that utilize state of the art restoration equipment to extract flood waters and begin the process of drying out a property.

Rhode Island was declared a state of emergency by Governor Donald L. Carcieri following an estimated ten inches of rain that has fallen over the last three days. The Governor has requested that residents stay off roads. The historic flooding has forced parts of I-95 to close, as well as numerous roads throughout the state. The governor has closed all government offices and has urged for businesses and municipalities to also close to help ensure public safety.

Jarvis Property Restoration is a FEMA authorized contractor that has worked extensively in disaster relief. In the summer of 2008, Jarvis managed 1600 workers to clean and repair over thirty government buildings in Cedar Rapids, Iowa following a devastating flood from the Cedar River. Jarvis Property Restoration was founded in 1979 by Sheryl and Bill Jarvis in Detroit, Michigan. Jarvis presently has offices in Michigan, Iowa and Florida and maintains numerous response hubs across the United States to respond to unexpected disasters. Jarvis has set up a local relief number (401) 648-8966 for Rhode Island area homeowners, businesses and government agencies that are in need of water damage restoration services.
