Recently the national ombudsman for the U.S. Small Business Administration came to Rhode Island and heard from local businesspeople and officials about the challenges they are facing.

One set of concerns had to do with the effects of federal regulations on companies in the state.

An oft-heard complaint from Rhode Island businesses is the negative effect that statewide and local regulations have on their operations. Do you have a sense which set of regulations – federal, state or local – do the most harm to companies in the region?
